Pirate Party

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1fLYeg0qZA48zJ7Ja7Mxh1e87KPHAblSaiRhYM-JUNyE/present#slide=id.p13

For my group I emailed everyone my availability to see if there was any time to meet. I decided to just pick a time and rent a study room for anyone who could come to help me. I gathered information and got a head start on the power point. There were some people who had met previously and they have emailed me their information. One other person from my group had met me in the study room to help with the power point. I had found pictures and provided some information alone with the making of the power point. We had a Google Doc page which we used to help keep everyone informed on what the power point was about and how it looked. I also wrote out each slide in more depth on a piece of paper and assigned everyone a slide to read. I emailed everyone after explaining what had been done in the study room and thought we should meet prior to class to finalize. Some of the group met prior to class and we decided who was going to say what. The Pirate Party is still fairly new and they are still trying to figure out what they stand for.  The most valuable resource was Wikipedia; it seemed to provide the most important of the information that was used in our presentation. Overall I would say the communication between the group was not the best. Their seemed to be only a few of us that emailed back and forth I don’t know if just some people were not checking their email or what was going on. For us that did email it seemed to work the best, it was hard to all meet up as a certain time so email was the best way of communication. Pirate Party was very interesting to learn about. The way that they seemed so unorganized but still gaining popularity was a shock to me. They are unclear on what they stand for and do not have set and stone opinions on very controversial topics. They seem to get most of their success from trying to include everyone in the decision to be made. They are doing this by live debates that people are allowed to the input their opinion from the computer and talk about it in their show. Tend to attract the younger community and have about 34,000 members currently today.
